The Smokin' Torpedoes
The Smokin' Torps are a group of experienced musicians committed to providing an
entertaining live performance based on a variety of blues influences. Each member
brings their own unique brand of blues to the Torps, providing every listener with
genuine blues rhythms, melodies and charisma associated with bands paying tribute
and respect to the music we all love the BLUES!
Jeff Willey founded the Smokin' Torpedoes blues band in the spring of 2004 based
on a simple concept that teamwork, information flow, event atmosphere and entertainment
value, fondly referred to as Torptitude, can make for a successful and FUN endeavor
for fans as well as musicians on any level.
By combining his technical sales & marketing skills with a true passion for live
blues performance, the band has appeared throughout Florida at conventions, festivals,
clubs and private functions. This devotion to presenting quality live blues resulted
in two consecutive trips to the Memphis International Blues Challenge (IBC) representing
the city of Orlando in both 2008 and 2009.
Other successes include organizing two downtown blues festivals, eight "A Blues Evening"
concert events, producing several shows featuring national artists, founding member of
the local blues society and most recently organized a very successful "Blues For Schools"
fundraiser for the Seminole County Elementary Schools music program.
The Smokin' Torpedoes as a company, now assists other local, regional, national artists
as well as event coordinators, proprietors and booking agencies to work together in
presenting only quality live blues events that are sure to be a rewarding experience
for all involved, mostly importantly, for local blues fans, our clients and the audiences
that continue to support and attend these events.
